Nah…Leaving the horse unattended when it has needs would be the sadistic thing. Myself, I have difficulties just leaving my cat for more than four days, even though it’s attended by an in-home pet sitter. For me, and apparently Donna, our pets are our family.

Excellent photos, Lainey. I wish that I could have been there.

Thanks, Gary. I wanted to go on board today, but it's been raining on and off most of the day. Tomorrow's weather doesn't look much better, but I'll hope for a chance. Our award winning photo journalist for the local paper (other national awards too) got the up close and personal photos. Here's a link. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%...itdVK5XejB96lw

On the subject of getting up early....one day on vacation we slept in until 9:00 purely by accident...our hotel room had good room darkening drapes. I have to be up just after 6:15 during the week. The newly retired Rick gets up when I'm done in the shower. Doesn't want to get into the habit of sleeping too late. On Saturdays, the alarm is set for 7:20 so I can get to my Y class. Somedays if nothing is going on, we'll sleep in a bit, but not much pass 8:00 AM anymore. I guess we aren't night owls. I never was. He was more so than I.

Some good friends who are true cat lovers told us how much they recently spent on one of their cats. They were traveling and were in Indy for a car event; the cat took ill and so they excused themselves from the car event where he was to be a judge and drove back to MI to their vet. The initial estimate for the operation it needed was $1,000 but before it was all over the total bill was $6,000! These are no super rich people or stupid people. But the old....it will need a few more days in rehab, etc. certainly got their attention.

Some pics the +1 took last night from the balcony with his cell phone, so not the best quality. Quite a light show!!! (White dots in the sky are planes coming in to land at National Airport.)

At low tide you can walk out to this little light house. We did, though lighthouses may actually look better from the water.

Historic church steeples from the town of Fairhaven, MA in background, the lighthouse and the fast ferry headed to Martha's Vineyard, MA. Love New England.

It's been nine days since I had a rattlesnake on my patio. Tonight I had a harmless milk snake in my garage. I caught it and threw it out in the weeds.

Pretty snake; if you like snakes. Is that black thing a trap?

^ Looks like a trap for rats/mice.
