MsPerky: The Ritz Carlton is a little farther south along PCH near Salt Creek just before entering Dana Point.

It's a beautiful place, and we drove through it just to see the Christmas lights on all the trees.

The silhouette of Catalina Island (26 miles off-shore) was clearly visible on New Years Eve.

Lainey: Yes, warm is goooooood! It was in the low 70's today!

If you are on Face book, here's a link if you care to check it out. Through Ryan's Eyes

A local FB page provides information of local happenings, things of interest and often posts pics of the area. I've had some of my pics posted and sent Ryan's (my grandson's) pictures from one of our days out with our cameras. They were posted today. Ryan will be thrilled to see his pictures on the internet.

I gave him a few suggestions as to what might make a decent pic, and I made a few minor edits, but these are his pics.

I taught him all I know............took about 1/2 hour.

Thanks, Dave.

Today we had a heat wave, 40 degrees and it felt pretty darn good. I headed out with the camera using the new lens. Lots to learn. I change settings, then forget I changed them. If I like 10% of the pics I take in a given day, that's a good day. Learning every time, I can easily get "lost" for a couple hours with this hobby.

Waiting for summer

A geranium in January? Someone must take the plants in.

Dead flowers can look interesting.

Snow at the beach, not quite like Spokesman's beach pic.

Soft kitty.

^Very nice pics, as usual, Lainey. I especially like the first one of the lawn chairs in the snow.

Jerry, great photos! I love the full moon, especially.

Lainey, love your photos, too! It looks like your new lens is a lot of fun. Great close-ups.

Thanks, Patty.

It's tough to find pretty things to take pics of during our winter

^^ Great pics, Lainey. They forgot to bring the chair cushions in for the winter.
