I took in another Cars & Coffee this morning in Fair Lakes, VA (about four miles from our house), There were not as many cars as in the past due in part to the BLASTED HEAT. I new record was set today at DCA at 15:00, 102*F (without the heat index).
I got into a conversation with a couple of Porsche owners, one of which was very enthusiastic about the S2000. His enthusiasm rubbed off on the "other guy" and as I was getting ready to leave I offered to take him for a short drive to show him how drivable the S is both at low RPM as a daily driver, as well as how much FUN it can be after the VTEC kicks in. I took him around a clover leaf (I-66 and the Fairfax County Parkway) to reverse direction. The first ramp is a constant radius (from FFX County Parkway to I-66 East) the next is a decreasing radius slightly down hill ramp (Exiting from I-66 to FFX County Parkway north) and I VTEC'ed out of the exit at a little over twice the posted speed. I think that got his attention.
At any rate, here are few pictures that I took today.
The most interesting piece today.

A Corvette with a documented 1000HP (but I can't help but wonder if he knows how to go around corners
[attachment=23281:1000 HP Vette.jpg]
I thought that this paint scheme was "jail bait"

[attachment=23284:Ford GT.jpg]
How much HP does one need?
[attachment=23282:Ford GT Engine.jpg]
I could not help but wonder if Colin Chapman had ever met Carrol Shelby? The "scale" of the Lotus versus the Mustang was an interesting comparison.

And last but not least was the exhaust on this Z-06. My only regret was I did not get to hear it. But, I do like the license plate.

Cool cars, Matt. Thanks for sharing.
Last night we decided to enjoy a summer evening. Too many evenings have already slipped by us. We parked the car at a fort near the ocean. Walked into the little town to the bike path. Walked on the bike path for a bit until we came to the "hurricane dike" which parallels the bike path for a while. Walked on the rocks of the bike path and got rewarded with some nice views of the ocean. Headed back to the fort to wait for the sunset. Caught this pic of this fishing vessel (scalloper). The company I work for has done work on this vessel.

Thanks! Best compliment ever! Your white car would look great in a sunset shot!
