Jerry, Love those shots man!!! Especially the one when it's time to get out. I am totally amazed something can be that cool and be so close to LA. I've only been in that area south once, in SD, but since we flew in I did not get to see near enough. Next year I've got to fly out to the west coast and rent a car for a few weeks.

The macro/drops of water photography is quite cool. One of my first pics with the macro was a water drop on a tree branch, but it wasn't quite the caliber of those in that link. Practice, practice....

Of everything we played with in the photography class, macro was the most fun. I have a nice macro lens that I love playing with. I can't wait until we have some flowers or bugs to shoot.

Maybe by then I might post something.

Here is a free alternative to Photoshop that the photo geeks might want to try.
I'll check it out! Thanks! Using photoscape right now which is also free. It had more option than Picasa which I still use as well.
Photoscape looks good as well.

I use Adobe Elements 11 and absolutely love it. I have seen it as cheap as $59.00 and worth every penny!

I doubt it. You have "the eye". You can look at something and see the picture in it.

Anyone can know the technical aspect of using the camera but not everyone has "the eye"

I'm working on it. I do find myself looking for the "picture in things". I like that.

^^ Thanks, Dave.

The ocean is only 20-30 minutes away from my apt, and it's relatively easy to find deserted stretches of coastline to explore, beyond the popular tourist areas, if you're willing to hike a little. However, it's important to check the ocean tide charts before hiking too far. You don't want to get pinned to the face of a cliff, or caught in a sea cave at high tide! Life is an adventure, and that's my main "job" now that I'm retired!
