I don't think we had ever seen a heron before. Or, perhaps I just wasn't paying attention to birds and not into taking at the time.

It was a nice night to be out. After our walk, we had dinner. We've tried to do a few different things this week since the Y is closed. Our regular exercise routine takes a big part of our after work hours and summer has slipped by.

Tonight we are taking the grandson (walking from our house) to the center of our little town. There is a car show.

Recent pics from the condo - sunrise, sunset and one night pic that is so bad it's interesting. There was a spectacular moon behind the Washington Monument.

Here are two photos from Thursday night, Sept. 5, 2013. I was at the monthly NSX meet at South Coast Acura, in Costa Mesa, CA. I drove my '07 Laguna Blue S2000 there since I was too lazy to move it out of the way and get the NSX out. Anyway, Greg, is another NSX owner but his '91 NSX is in the shop for maintenance so he brought a different toy. He also took this toy on our NSX drive the previous Sunday on Glendora Mountain Road to Mount Baldy, where we took the ski lift up for breakfast. I didn't have a chance to beg for a ride on Sunday but Greg said if I gave him a nutty brownie on Thursday night, he'd give me a ride at the NSX meet.

OMG! WOW! That thing is beyond fast. I kept thinking it would just take off and fly. I confess to not knowing much about the McLaren MP4-12C before the ride so I looked it up. Greg drove us around for about 15 minutes. I learned that he also has a Ford GT and two other cars. He likes the Ford GT the best and likes his ancient NSX more than the McLaren because he can shift gears in it instead of having the paddle shifters. He is the dad of three children under four years-old and still plays with cars. It can be done.

From Wikipedia:
"The McLaren MP4-12C, also simply called the 12C,[3] is a sports car designed and manufactured by McLaren Automotive. It is the first production car wholly designed and built by McLaren since the McLaren F1 in 1998. The car's final design was unveiled in September 2009, and was launched in 2011.

The MP4-12C features a carbon fibre composite chassis, and is powered by a mid-mounted McLaren M838T 3.8-litre V8, twin-turbo engine developing approximately 616 bhp (459 kW; 625 PS) and around 443 lb·ft (601 N·m) of torque. The car makes use of Formula 1-sourced technologies such as "brake steer",[4] where the inside rear wheel is braked during fast cornering to reduce understeer. Power is transmitted to the wheels through a seven-speed seamless Shift dual-clutch gearbox.

The MP4-12C is largely considered one of the most distinguished sports cars available."

I have seen one of these at our local C &C, but never ridden in one. That car is bad-ass!

Nope. The only car that has my attention as far as future ownership goes, is the new NSX. The McLaren was crazy fast but the front end is too round to excite me. I have to love the looks first, and then the rest.

Three kids under four, four cars/toys, something tells me this guy is not hurting for cash. What does the wife do with the three kids under four while he's playing with his cars? Maybe they have a nanny and she's at a spa???? LOL, just kidding........a little bit anyway. Only in Cali.
