^^ Thanks. I think it's very difficult to take a bad picture in such a beautiful place as Yosemite. I just point the phone (camera) at things I like and then click (well, tap). Sometimes I play with overriding the automatic settings so I can force it to focus elsewhere or use different points for lighting reference, but pretty much I'm just winging it and hoping for the best. The other guys on the drive with real cameras and real skills... their pics were truly amazing.

I've also enjoyed the recent pics for display. Nice job everyone.
Lainey- Check meetup or look for a 'LOCATION photo club' on the web. You might find something. We had a local one that met monthly, with 'homework' that was informative. Beginners, hobbyists, even 2 people with a photo career/studio and a staff photographer at a local paper attended.
Unfortunately, we lost our venue (when the leader got a new job), and it moved from 1st Friday of the month to 1st Thursday. Turnout tanked, comraderie tanked, etc... I don't think we meet anymore, but just have 'outings' .
While I was going (about 4 years worth maybe) - lots of ideas, coaching, criticism, trips, etc...

This butterfly went bar hopping with us in Key West. It sat on my shoulder for almost a half an hour. Guess it liked my shirt.

A couple shots of the same subject...
Trying something different with getting the objects in focus near and far. "Coach" Rick was guiding me.
Nothing say serenity like chairs near the water.
