The little grass strip airport where my flying buddies and I hang out has come under sad times. There used to be about 25 airplanes based here, but since the owner died 7 years ago, we have seen the occupancy drop to only 3 active flying airplanes. The late owner's family has vowed to keep it open, though we all know that there is no way they are close to breaking even. So, yesterday, about 6 of us volunteered to repaint the 35 year-old above-ground fuel tank, which, as you can see, was in very sad shape. First, we sand-blasted all the rust and flaking paint off. Then, we primed it with Rust-Oleum. Saturday, we hope to give it the final coat of white, restoring it to its former glory!

^ I liked the primer color much better but I imagine for safety reasons white is the better one.

Local fort had a Revolutionary War re-enactment. The kids were great! They sleep there, eat there, the whole bit; and it was so chilly that weekend!
