I went trekking today at Roxbrough State Park which is located 10 miles southwest of Denver. It’s little known and has very few visitors. There were five cars, including mine, in the parking lot. It’s similar to the Garden of the Gods near Colorado Springs only better and much larger. Here’s a few pic’s I took while in the park…

Nice photos, Gary! Beautiful! You see that red sandstone outcropping further down in Colorado Springs at the Garden of the Gods.

Nice photos, as always, Gary.

I took my grandson to a live owl show yesterday. The owls are unable to live in the wild. It was an interesting show with a slide (remember slides?) presentation informing about the various types of owls in our area. They had seven owls to show us.

I was able to get a few shots of this barn owl before the show.

My favorite shot, love his face!

And a couple pics of a snowy....not so great as the handler is in the shots.

Thank you for sharing your photos, Gary and Lainey. Very nice.

Barn owls are just so weird looking. Like the ugly head of a vulture, there must be a reason for the flat face.

I love Colorado and the outdoors in general, as you can probably tell. Here’s a photo looking north from one of Boulder’s open space areas while on a walk today. Last night we received 3 inches of snow.

A couple scans of my last race car shown with the new owner who has hosed up its appearance with strange decals, an obnoxious hood, and a rear spoiler.

When it was owned by me it looked factory stock. It was a 1968 Nova SS 396 that was upgraded to a 572ci engine that dyno’d at ~1023 hp and had a 250hp Nitrous Oxide system for a total of 1273hp. At the time it was street legal and driven to “hamburger nights” with a 4-6 MPG average. People could hear it (especially my neighbors) whenever it was started and idling. The exhaust had a lot of percussion with a 14.2cr.

The new owner increased the engine size to 740ci with the addition of my Nitrous Oxide system it ran a ¼ mile at 7:40 sec and a speed of 188 outside of Denver (5800’ in elevation). When I owned it, my best ¼ mile time was 9:05 with a 159 mph speed at 5800’ in altitude. A sea level run would have reduced the ¼ elapsed time by ~ 10%. Its 0-60 mph times were approx 1.2 seconds with its front wheels airborne for 150’.
Here’s one of my Big Bro’s Stang.

Gary,

What are "antenna-like" devices attached to the rear bumper? What are their purpose?

Thanks!

Thanks for asking… Their purpose was to attach to the rear spoiler. adjusting the downward force by varying its angle. At the time of the photo they were unattached.

Thanks for the pics, Gary.

So what are your average daily temps now? How long will you keep getting snow?
