On my lamppost and all over the ground around it.

I had to Google these insects. They’re Eastern Lubbers, a distinctive grasshopper species in the southeastern United States. The picture shows them while still in their cute nymph stage, but not nearly as cute as Sue’s grandson.

Last Thursday, started off eggstra good.

I had me a couple of double-yolkers for breakfast and then was hurrying to go ride my ElliptiGO after other things took priority over a ride all week.

^3-19-2015. Such a large egg must have a double yolk. I wondered what it would look like.

^3-19-2015. Yep.

In the process of hurrying to go ride, finally, I kicked a leather ottoman REALLY hard. F! F! Ow! F! Ow!

^3-19-2015. Before my ride.

I was determined to go ride even though it hurt, a lot. I managed to get in 35 miles with 3,500 feet of elevation gain. Ibuprofen works well on me.

3-19-2015, Thursday ride: Strava data.

^3-19-2015. After ride.

The next day, I drove about 6 hours to get to Phoenix, AZ. Saturday (March 21, 2015) I was signed up for the American Diabetes Association, Tour De Cure, fund raiser ride. I wanted to ride the 52 mile route in sunny, blooming, Phoenix. My little piggy was NOT staying home.

Saturday, my foot hurt but I rode anyway. I really enjoyed the smell of the desert and the lovely scenery. We had a total of 7 ElliptiGO riders in the event.

^3-21-2015. Me during the ride in Phoenix.

^Five of the seven of us ElliptiGO riders after the ride.

Strava data for Phoenix, AZ ride on 3-21-2015.

One more from after the ride was over.

Yesterday, my foot still hurt so I finally went to the doctor, just out of curiosity. Yep, broken toe. Nothing to do about it anyway. I'm glad I went ahead with my trip before I found out. I might have wimped out and missed out.

Nice story, Patty. Remember the 'Fun in the Sun' Phoenix S2k meet at Ehrhart Honda some years ago, was it 2007?. I met Backcracker, Andy and some other SoCal folks there for the first time. A great ride in the mountains up by Prescott....

Oh, yeah, but it was before 2007. Andy was a complete asshole to me at that meet. I think it was 2005.

Kind of creepy-looking to me. I wouldn't consume it. Although if you get the dose right I hear you can see Shiva.
