Thank you for sharing your family photo, Lainey.

Is Sue really that much taller than you?

Guess what can happen when you add one of ^these trucks, without a tailgate but with a loose wheel in the bed,

to one of ^these light poles

when you have a gradual downhill like ^this. (BTW, my house is in that photo, up on the hill.)

^This is what happens when a heavy wheel and tire hauls ass down an incline and then hits the base of a cement light pole.
I saw it happen on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2015. My friend, Ricky and I were driving down the road and saw the wheel rolling down the road, in front of us. Then we noticed the retired military vehicle up ahead and assumed it had fallen out of the back since the truck didn't appear to be missing any wheels. We watched the wheel veer to the left and run smack dab into the light pole. A second or two later, the entire light pole fell across the road, in front of us. The truck was ahead and there weren't any cars coming at that moment from the other direction. I think Ricky and I are the only ones who saw it all happen. I took these photos two days later. The day it happened, we were on our way to go whale watching and by the time we got back that evening, the pole was moved to the road side like it is here. It's all cleaned up now. I called So Cal Edison and told them about it and they were concerned that the wires were showing.

They don't make light polls the way they used to.

Military spare tires, on the other hand...

That's why we make our light poles out of wood!

Thankfully it hit a light pole and not a car or a pedestrian.

A day at the Denver Zoo with my granddaughter and her friend yesterday. I was a very pleasant (and rare) 73 degrees in February.

The bears were enjoying the sun.

A carrousel ride.

Big Foot.

Safari wagon.
