My 01 S (55K miles) isn't a DD since I don't work. My husband drives it when I let him (he has a Nissan Titan truck) to his work about once a week. He has a great ride through the mountains down to Nashville so he has a blast. It is such a great ride I go down to "visit him" just so I can make the drive! In regards to observations driving an S in the Nashville area, I sure do stick out amongst the F-150s and other trucks and get followed by cops a lot!! It kind of makes it a challenge to drive my S the way it was meant to be driven. Sixth gear? Can't remember when I used it last...

Well, my S has been demoted from dd duties. We needed SOMETHING with a back seat, with AJ still in the household. So now the TOFleet looks like this:

Hauler: 95 Nissan pickup that a medium speed impact with a tree really couldn't hurt
Daily Driver: 95 Toyota Camry V6 LE. Good thing its a short drive to work or this one would put me back in dreamland. But it was cheap and in perfect working order. And it looks nice.
Spare car: 94 Mercury Grand Marquis deSade. Now none of the power windows work so when the A/C gives up the ghost this one goes to a worthy cause. Currently on loan to Rob while he reassembles his EVO.
Offspring Sportabout: 1990 Mazda Miata. This one actually belongs to my 17 year old. It's the perfect trainer. And now that there is a car with a back seat in the household, AJ may hold on to this little jewel for a year or two. Rob has first dibs if and when AJ sells it. He (Rob) is looking at an LS swap.
Moonlight cruiser/canyon carver: 1993 S2000. Too bad we don't have any canyons down here. I have to drive to a Jack Nicholas golf course access road (6 completely uninhabited miles of nothing but turns) or up to the dragon for some adrenaline but it is still fun to wag the tail on a local turn now and then.

Yeah...It's really a late build S800 with a B18 engine and a stroker kit to get it to 2 liters. I just like to pretend its an S2000.

Make that 2003.

It's so rare to have anything in my collection that was actually built in the current millenium that I tend to slip and refer to the S as a 1993.

I never tired of my 00 and now my 04 S as a DD. I took some awesome back roads to work and that made it more fun. If I had to drive on an interstate everyday then it would probably be different. Now that I am retired I have an 02 Jeep Wrangler which I drive around town and on the beach. It definitely does make it more exciting to drive the S now and there is less wear and tear. At 45K I plan to keep it around for a long time. Hope you are feeling better soon Dave.

I've been driving my automatic RAV4 for about 3 weeks. Last night, I chose to make a pillow delivery run and I took my NSX. It was only an 8 mile trip but it was fun!
