nude gym

Ok now I don't want to imply I am a prude or anything but.....no thanks

reason number one. When I exercise there are certain clothing articles which provide benefits other than modesty such as support and retention. hey that might be why they call them athletic supporters.

Reason number two. Hygiene. now I'm not Felix of the Odd couple but there have been times at the gym when using a peice of equipment after someone else... well let's just say it needed a wipe down. My mind just goes eee-yuck when I think of climbing on a bike after someone else nude.

 

The Greeks (who gave us the word gymnasium) used to be naked. In fact, I think the word means "place to be naked".

Why is it no surprise to me that this occurred in The Nederlands (Dutch spelling). In the country that epitomizes the credo "Live and Let Live" this in not a surprise to me.

For those of you that have had the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam I think that you would agree that a city that has made prostitution and drugs legal it makes New Orleans look like a convent by comparison.

 

Things are quite different there. There was a post about their national scale modeling contest. In the USA, the national sanctioning group frowns upon nude scale model figures in the competition. Over there, they had an attractive young woman in wearing nothing more than body paint (to resemble a Dutch fighter plane's camoflage) and panties. Waht was amazing, was in the photos, no one was even looking at her!

 

For more than a couple of reasons-- NO!!

Reminds me of when I went to the gym with Maury (Jumpy Guy) and Beth in Pittsburgh last December. While I was on the elliptical, I watched people finish the their workouts on the treadmills, and get a spray disinfectant, that was by a wall, and wipe down the equipement. I followed their example, and I did it too when I was done. I've never seen that done in the four 24 Hour Fitness gyms I've been in.

 

I thought all you women cleaned the house naked? So what's the big deal the gym?

 

Yes. They are. I was in a restaurant and went to the rest room. It was unisex. but not one at a time. While I was standing at the urinal a woman came out of a stall and was washing her hands. That is common in Belgium as well.

 

Newsflash. We wash our hands in the US also.
