[QUOTE=S1997,Nov 7 2006, 12:26 PM] Well, you zoologists need that kind of precision for your work.

Who are you calling a zoologist? Don't make me open up a can of whoop ass on you.

And I thought you were the language police?
My apologies. I haven't seen the catalog.

Nope, I just describe linguistic things, like American Indian Languages.

I have nothing against dolphins. It's the dolphin huggers that I find objectionable and worthy of derision.
Some people take dolphin hugging a bit too far: http://www.google.com/search?q=sex+with+dolphins

It strikes me as funny that the octopus is extremely intelligent, capable of communication, and may well have a non verbal form of language, yet not many people are out there hugging them or being champions for their cause. <Mr. Rogers voice> Can you say, species-centrism? I knew that you could. </Mr. Rogers voice>
Actually, octopi are pretty popular here in Seattle. Many residents know that Puget Sound has the biggest octopus species in the world, so hometown pride is transferred over to the octopus through no fault or benefit of its own.

Plus, I know divers who like to interact with them.

Not that it stops people from ordering it at sushi places. Personally, the chewiness is what stops me.
