We lost two light poles here, trees are down all over the DMV, and there are about 10k people without power. We had gusts up to 70mph but very little rain. Still a bit gusty today but nothing like yesterday.

You are very lucky those trees did not come down on your house. Just some major cleanup and fence repair there.

On the national news last night they showed a plane trying to land at an angle at Reagan with the Wilson Bridge in the background. Cool video but scary! That plane ended up aborting the landing and coming back around. Glad I wasn't on it, or any other plane for that matter.

Bill, glad your house survived any major damage. I see at least $5K or more in clean-up laying there, unfortunately.
Will your homeowner's cover any of that?
We have equally big trees behind our house, and I hold my breath every time the northwest wind starts blowing.

Lots of firewood, you'll be all set for next winter Bill.

Nothing new here. No power. We won't see it this weekend I fear. Bill do you have power?

Lost power here for about 20 hours starting around 7 last night. We found out that the whole town of Rowley had lost power as well as a couple of neighboring towns.
We understand that Nation Grid's transmission line that fed all of us was damaged and was out of service.
Took a drive to a hardware store to get some batteries this morning and there were a LOT of big trees uprooted. We lost a few large branches but no damage to the house.
But all ended well ..... Power was back on in time for the BRUINS vs HABS hockey game...!!!!!!

Power came back on after about 23 hours. I was surprised as I thought we'd be down until at least tomorrow, if not Monday. Internet and cable are back. We are civilized again.
