Default A New Year

New Year's Day had us taking down the tree and getting back to normal.

It's also a time to go through the mounds of paper that we seem to accumulate each year.

This is what I do. Gather pay stubs from previous year to be shredded once W-2s are received. I can always get copies of pay stubs if they are needed. I went through our IRA statements and weeded those out as well. IMO no need to keep every statements for every month for so many years. Also went through confirmations for IRA mutual fund purchases and weeded those out as well. I had some that went soooooooooo far back.

Shredded one year of bank statements and will also shred one year's tax returns after we file for 2006.

I still print up quite a few pics, but tonight I copied all my pics for 2006 onto a CDs. One CD for family pics, one for S2000 pics. I copy them here and again during the year, in the event of computer difficulties, now I'll destroy those copies. I hate clutter. I printed up a few more pics, and cleared the memory from the photo cards.

I have a couple pics of my mother in law from when she was young and I plan on having copies made of those. That's tomorrow. Here's a scan of that pic. I think it's special. Posted in the photo thread too.

I've got a few more folders of paperwork to do, then I'm organized again.......for a while anyway.

So how organized are you?

She's obviously bi-lingual because that's a word I don't recognize from the English language.

My Dad was VERY organized.....perhaps a bit obsessive about it. Along with his low cholesterol, I think I got the organization gene from him as well. Although there are some things I can be extremely laid back/lazy about, clutter and I don't live well together.

I've got to start going through 22 years of stuff accumulated in this house in preparation of moving out on my own. ARGH. I hate, hate, hate doing that. I'm going to take baby steps and see if I can make any progress.
