Praseodymium

pra·se·o·dym·i·um
prāzēōˈdimēəm/

noun
  1. the chemical element of atomic number 59, a soft silvery-white metal of the lanthanide series.
at one point many, many, many, moon ago I had memorized the periodic table. but I simply don't remember this one.

I used to work with guy who enjoyed using terms most had no clue what he was talking about. The only person he ever impressed was himself. Try as I might I can't recall his name.

I would love to take credit but it came from Facebook. It would take me a month of Sundays to come up with those words!

I always default to why use a big word when a diminutive one will do.

I have discovered that it is always best to use diminutive words or those around me think I'm being an a$$ and trying to make them feel stupid.

As a kid, IIRC, the show, The Kids in the Hall? It was one of those comedy groups, with a weekly show on HBO maybe?

They had a segment on where they would make up words. Once stuck in my head, still...

Funch- the act of rotating your pillow to find the cool spot.
