No pad on this machine. There is also a suction control for the hose. If it is too hard to push you can open the suction valve.

I still use the Electrolux vacuum that has been in the family since my parents bought it in the mid 80s. It still works great after all these years- the only that I’ve had to replace is the retractable power cord thingy. Still on the original power head unit and hoses and accessories.
It’s a bag vacuum, not a canister. It’s bulky but I don’t have stairs.

I had one of those for years. Very good vacuum, and, as I recall, very expensive. Just too bulky and heavy for my use these days, and I expect for Ray, also.

We have one and love it, but it would be a little tough to install one in a house that is already built!

Can't imagine life without it.
Best part is exhaust goes outside.
While not energy efficient, none of the really fine dust that escapes filtering is in the house.

Bought the V7 Dyson. Very light. Goes from floors to carpet. Cordless. 5 star rating. $299 marked down to $249 and with a Bed Bath & Beyond 20% coupon it was $199. My wife loves it. Thanks for the recommendations

We just replaced our 24 year old Maytag washer and dryer with a new LG set on sale at Costco online. Part of offer was an LG portable vacuum for $200 instead of the warehouse price of $500. What a great vacuum! I was skeptical at first but it is so easy to use and light it converted even me. Use it all the time. We have a Dyson "ball" for the serious in house cleaning.
