Maury.

Never heard of such a thing. I would think it may be well received in some exclusive areas. Maybe neighborhoods where everyone gets into decorations? Though I realize how much work can be involved in holiday decorations, it still seems pricey; but keep in mind I'm a Grinch. Good luck with it!

Hey, maybe hardtop guy could be your first customer. Have you seen what they do at Christmas?

See you soon.

Does that price include the decorations or just the installation, take down and storage?

Yeah, but Rick works cheap. We got what we paid for. Maury's operation will be high class.

That's a big business in some of the ritzier areas of Houston (River Oaks, etc) and certainly for businesses. I don't think it's for us average folk.

I would think getting an "in" with some of the interior decorators / designers in the high end neighborhoods around you would be another good way to go -- their clients hire them to design the decorations every year and they have to hire someone to install them.

Thanks for your input everyone. Yes you're right we are targeting homes with incomes of $200,000 +, currently there are over 4,000 homes in our territory that would qualify. Yes, the price includes setup, teardown, and installation. Currently we are not planning inside decorating. Keep the thoughts coming, I appreciate it

There are some houses in our area who hire people to come in and install their outside decorations because the houses are quite large with huge columns and a cherrypicker-like truck is used for the installation. There wouldn't be enough houses around here to keep anybody really busy but some of the lawn maintenance companies in the area offer the service. If you're in a large metropolitan area, I can see that it would be a nice opportunity.

Maury -- I don't think you said whether you'd supply the decorations themselves (or just put up what people already own). I guess you could do both and adjust pricing accordingly. Similarly, you could adjust pricing for custom displays (what the homeowner wants) or canned recipes that are quick and easy.

I wouldn't use this unless I had some kind of big party planned and wanted some bling, in which case I'd need both decorations and installation. HPH

$1400 seems like a lot. Assuming for a minute it's all labor, even $50/hr, that's 28 hours of labor. But then again, looking at the
