Default New Accessory

Myra has been after me to get a hitch for the S and a bike rack. Went to local guy and asked about hitches and was told he didn't have an answer. About a half hour later he calls and said the local business that manufactures hitches (Curt Manufacturing) would like to talk to me about doing a hitch for the S. I called and was told if I could leave the S with them for a couple of days they would design hitch for the S & I could have mine installed for free.

We got the hitch put on a couple of weeks ago and found a bike rack on craigslist.

Results are below:

Seems you must have gotten your point across. Curt Manufacturing DOES make a hitch for the S for MY 00-03. When I asked about the MY04 and above .. I got the response

Subject: Curt Manufacturing Trailer Hitch

We have nothing available for the 2004 and newer model S2000's. Due to the nature of the vehicle, I do not have a projected date as to IF/when a hitch would be released.

Thank you,

So with that .. I went with the MY00-03 hitch that I purchased on ebay for $35 and proceeded to follow in the steps of PicturePro (Click)and mounted it on my MY04. It actually looks pretty "stealth" ..... and the rest of the story can be read here .... CLICK

Post some more pictures. I'm interested in the design and where it bolts to....

Yeah, I also would like to see how it attaches to the car.

People have been making hitches for the S for years. I've had mine since 2003. Some guy advertises them right here on the site. I think his add pops up every fourth or fifth time at the top of the page.

What bike rack is that. I'm looking for one myself.

Legal Bill, that's the Thule T2 bike carrier. They made it for 1.25" and 2" receivers. They run pretty expensive (~$350+) brand new, but used, you can get them cheaper. You also have the option to add a piece on that handles 2 additional bikes. Not so sure it would work well on an S, but hey I've seen it on SUVs

Mine seems to struggle with the T2 carrier + Chase Race hitch + 48lb Kona downhill bike.

The rack, as stated, is a Thule T2 that I bought off of craigslist for $175. It is great for loading & unloading the bikes. Much easier for Myra too.

I put up some photos I received from Curt Mfg. and the last three are ones I took, just laying on the ground. I did talk to the guy at Curt's and he said it probably won't show up for sale or with installation instructions for a couple of weeks.

Bolts on above the mufflers.

I have been looking for a way to tow a small motorcycle trailor behind my S. This looks like what I was looking for.
