Is this the NeoCon credo.....
[QUOTE]....I am sales oriented, people person, money making capitalist who still loves some dogs and some children (but hates cats) as compared to my older brother who is a intellectual, musician, arts and croissant crowd bleeding heart liberal who has 3 university professors as lifelines. I don't hang with such people (ick)

I'm conservative and I like cats, not dogs. Guess that's not the definiton of the "new conservative" after all.
What do you consider compassion? I work with local charities, do pro bono work when I can, donate an array of needed supplies to the local women's shelter, volunteer as a guardian ad litem, and do taxes for low income people who need help (read: I get them their tax refunds).
Do those actions not count as compassionate? As far as I'm concerned, I'm simply fulfulling what I believe to be my moral obligation to help those in my community that need assistance. Do liberals not share these morals? Or do acts of compassion and charity not count unless they're done by a gov't program?
