Hi Dean,

I had the clutch replaced on the BMW and now, $1,250 later, the car seems to be running reasonably well. I know it's only temporary, but the pressure is off to find a replacement quickly. Now I can take my time.

I've been busy, crazy these last few weeks. The extension period for 1040 tax returns will be over Monday the 17th so I haven't had much time for anything else. I did see a few new 2017 Civic Hatchbacks. The dealer was closed when I saw them so I was only able to see the exterior, but I think they're pretty nice. Problem is I can't get one built exactly the way I want it.

I'm probably going to wait for the 2017 Civic Si and the 2017 Civic Type R before I do anything. I have a soft spot for Civics and my 2006 Si was one of the most favorite cars I've ever owned. This doesn't preclude any of the others that I want to test such as the GTI etc., I will continue to test drive, but I'm not going to make any decision until I get to see the Type R and the Si.

To be continued.
I just can't get used to the looks, Rob. It reminds me of nothing more than a Transformer that was a robot a minute ago and hasn't quite finished turning back into a car yet.
If this is the model we are talking about (not sure since I don't follow Civic's) https://youtu.be/NGmHi6KULus I like it.
[/quote]
That's pretty much it.

[In the Voice of Me] Sweeeeeeeeet. I want one! I'm sure it adds some weight but unless you are a track junkie it works for me. I'm impressed. I hope Mazda sells truck loads of them. They are a small but great company IMHO. Hats off to them.

Not me. I love the Miata but if I'm going to buy a light weight open air sports car, I want a light weight open air sports car. I'm sure the rear window doesn't come down and if it doesn't it's not really an open air sports car.

Anyway this would never do it for a daily driver for me, for the same reasons I wouldn't consider a BRZ for a daily driver.

Looks veeeeeeeeeeeeery nice, Dave! Any drive reports? If I ever feel the S2000 time is over, then this might be a candidate OTOH, I might get a pre-owned off-lease something that is more $$$ ....like a Boxster

I would not be making any bets if I was you.... from the 2nd page of the link:
The model’s unique design featuring a back window glass that retracts when the top is down enables the driver to fully enjoy the pleasing exhaust note coming from the rear, helping to deliver the true pleasure of the open-top driving experience.

I don't see any numbers on the weight as yet but 155hp w/6 speed may not excite S2000 owners but my first impression from the pictures is very clean lines in a known fun quality sports car that offers more weather options and break-in protection than a ragtop.
