There's no maybe about it. A 3-point or better is a must. I was damn lucky to have lived through this '04 accident wearing just a lap belt. Never again.

Ouch...glad you made it out ok. Sorry for your loss though

With that in mind, I'm definitely getting a 4-pt before it steps out onto public roads.

I was lucky to escape with several broken ribs...
I broke 1 rib years ago using my chest as leverage as I tried to pick something up out of the bed of my pickup. I cannot imaginne the pain of several broken ribs...

you appear to have been very fortunate.
the engineer side of me asks, what was your speed at impact ?

I'm going to guess it wasn't much more than 25 or 30, probably less.

I was traveling 45 mph when I saw a flash of metal and glass come from a side road into my path, at which time I slammed on the brakes with all my might. Fortunately part of the MG went under the Jeep.

There is a great video of the S600 at Jay Leno's garage web site. You can google search to find the link. He had one rebuilt and it's wicked.

There is a guy in my city that has two. I haven't seen them yet as I only met him 4 months ago but I will get him out to a local event/met when summer gets here.
