I switch between my Odyssey van and my S2000. That is ideal for helping my appreciate my S2000. The van is comfortable but there is no thrill in driving it. I do like to accelerate quickly and drive fast, so my S2000 keeps thrilling me every time I get back into it. The longer the trip, the better.

....Patty, we have the same vehicles. I use the van as my daily driver, but can't wait to get behind the wheel of the S2000.

Yep, another oldie but goodie. I'm going to go through some more of the oldies and maybe bump up a few. Two years of Vintage fun continues...

When I picked up Tom's (tomcatt) post from this thead I took a few minutes to read through it. There is some fine writing here. I thought some of our newer members might like to read through it and perhaps add their version of what motoring is. I hope too that some of the long time members will add to it.
I'm looking forward to some great writing and some good reading. Enjoy.

Motoring is another part of the sports car experience. It is the part that many of us engage in and enjoy, but very few of us recognize or acknowledge. Motoring is quite simply the Sunday drive to nowhere. It is the slow speed cruise down the country road done with no particular destination in mind. It is enjoying the drive simply for the sake of the drive. It is seeing what there is to see without having gone out to see it. It is when getting there is more fun than being there except that there is where ever you happen to wind up.
There are some people out there, myself included, who find the underlined part of this sentence completely incomprehensible. "It is the part that many of us engage in and enjoy, but very few of us recognize or acknowledge."
I have been motoring since I was old enough to drive...

Most of the folks on the forum DO recognize the joy in the 'ride'.....although the other 95% of the population are not 'car folks'. Their loss is our gain......meaing that the Tail of the Dragon can exist.....without the cops or general populace messing it up
