For me, middle age was when I bought my first sports cars, a 2001 Silverstone S2000, 3 months after my mom died unexepectantly. Now, it means that I get to choose how I want the rest of my life to go. I'm changing the plan I made years ago.

Patricia, I would be interested in elements that you're willing to share

My 'life plan' also seems to be evolving, but I'm determined to 'commit' to one in the next 18-24 months. You have longer to 'fart around with it' than we older vintage folks

Disclosure: The use of 'fart' emoticon in no way reflects lack of respect for Patricia, Acton CA, the management or members of www.s2ki.com

Middle age is when you've met so many people that every new person you meet reminds you of someone else. Ogden Nash (1902-1971) Poet
I wish that I could lay my hands on my Ogden Nash book of poetry. One of my favorites is when he writes about his poor eyesight and his glasses.

Having just returned home from a week in Waikiki, Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii. I was reminded how lucky that I have been and continue to be in good health, to be able to travel and get around under my own power.

I guess partly because the remaining few WWII era veterans may want to visit the Arizonia Memorial and the "Mighty Mo" (US Missourri), where the Japanese signed the documents ending WWII is now a floating museum. There are a lot of people in wheel chairs and walkers.

Our Vintage generation is lucky by comparision to those that were born at the beginning of the twentieth century when the life expectancy was just forty-eight years old. With that stated: Middle age is a relative term depending on when you were born. As most things in life: Timing is EVERYTHING.

I think we should stop using labels altogether as they relate to age...they've become essentially meaningless. What is middle for some is young or old for others. Age is a state of mind (I just made that up, too - ). Rock on, baby... Speaking of rockin' on, got tickets to see Rod Stewart in January. LUV that rocker!!

I don't think he has left infancy yet.

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman: "And what do you think is the
best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No
peer pressure."

I agree that age is a state of mind and middle age is evolutionary. Strange how a near-death experience like my motorcycle crash last year influenced my thinking and planning.
