Default McGregor V Mayweather, thoughts???

35 years ago I was working retail selling stereo equipment and TV's/
Since it was Saturday afternoon we had on ABC's Wide World of Sports which was featuring boxing.
The fight was between Boom Boom Mancini and Du doc Kim Duc-Koo which had been proceeding in a rather one sided fashion.
My customer expressed that 'hey it'll be a good pay for Kim."
I expressed there was no way I wold ever get in the ring.
Moments after our discussion, Kim went down for the last time and 4 days later he died.

Will anyone be watching the upcoming Mayweather-McGregor fight?
McGregor might get his payday, maybe he'll stun everyone.
I just hope he doesn't earn it the hard way.

Nah. I don't watch boxing anymore. I don't judge those that do, however. I enjoyed watching it in my youth and understand the appeal. If people want to enter the world of professional martial arts for a living, I say good luck to them as well. I've grown tired of society trying to identify the next thing to out law. After centuries of legislation, people still find ways to kill themselves every day within the law. We should all just butt out and let them pursue their interests.

I watched boxing every Friday night on tv growing up. It holds zero interest with me now. Besides if you want to see a good fight just go to a baseball game.

I grew up watching Tuesday night fights on USA. That was in the 90's. Now, in my 40's I'm more into MMA and a fan of Mcgregor. I have never even watched a Mayweather fight but I went back and watched a couple plus some highlights. I would love to see Mcgregor succeed but its not realistic to me. We are doing a raffal drawing where te winner gets the pot this Saturday. I will pick Mayweather to win by stoppage in the 7-9th round (still mulling it over). I know Mayweather is not a knock out artist but I think he will overwhelm and exhaust Mcgregor. Not because Mcgregor isn't in excellent shape but because he will grow tired and frustrated trying to hit Mayweather and Mayweather will overwhelm him with volume.

I am a boxing fan but not an MMA fan at all. Mayweather should easily win, although I don't think
he is knocking anyone out. My son is a fan as well so we will probably watch it as there are some
decent fights on the undercard and we don't have anything else to do. I really hate the idea of
contributing to this farce though. Cotto is fighting tomorrow night as well, different card.

I remember that fight... I was at my Aunt's parent's house in Queens, watching on a little B/W TV in the bedroom.

I'm generally not a boxing fan - it was more the 'What's on WWoS this week?', which was often boxing at that time. That's what we did, we watched WWoS.

I don't see McGregor with any chance. Mayweather has a lifetime of boxing experience and is generally not someone who gets hit too often in his fights. However, as we've seen many times in the ring. it can sometimes just be the one punch that's needed. McGregor, not being a boxer might bring some things Mayweather isn't used to seeing.

Conspiracy Theorists I know are already talking about M/M II, caused my McGregor's disqualification after a roundhouse right leg that brings Mayweather down.

I'll be at a dart tournament this weekend. The location will have the fight on. If I'm still around at that time, I might watch.

Mayweather should win. Lighter gloves may lead to a knockout.

Boxers have known for years the potential health risks of their sport. Football players are just finding out. Yet I love football and find boxing just ok. Cognitive dissonance is a bitch.

I don't know. I've never been a fan of boxing. After seeing the great Ali in his last few years, and seeing what the years in the ring did to him, I have a lot of trouble watching. I don't know who'll win tonight, and I really don't care. Boxing is not for me.
