Losing recess!
My granddaughter talks too much. She is doing very well in school, no trouble with the work, but she talks too much. She has lost recess for two days.
Her father used to talk too much in school. I'd go to parents night and they would tell me what a nice boy he was, not a troublemaker, very polite, but he talked too much.
As a kid, my uncle used to call me "chatterbox." I'm not sure why!
Based on the above, I think there is a talking gene and it has passed from me, to my son, and now his child as well.
I saved a note from when my son was in the second grade. I think it reads that he found reasons to go up to the teacher, something like 11 times in 28 minutes. I have saved that note, so if he gives my grandchildren a hard time about talking in school, I can show him that it's a bit of the mother's curse getting him. "May you have one just like you."
My son had/has ADD, I'm sure the talking, inability to sit still, was somewhat related to that. Me, I have no excuse.
So, were you a talker as a kid in school? What about your kids and/or grand kids? Any time on the sidelines at recess?

Oh Boy was I a talker. I had a special seat in the principal's office set aside for me at recess. Can you imagine such a thing
My older son never had a problem while my younger son took after me.

My son often had a desk right near the teacher.

I've never been a talker. Quiet girl, here. I watch and listen.

I know some will find this hard to believe but I was a talker. Got me in trouble more than once. But I couldn't help myself. I always seemed to have a comment that I just knew my desk neighbor or the entire class would enjoy.
Neither of my boys developed this habit, as far as I know.

I wasn't, but have a few in class. They don't even realize they are doing it.
