I have trouble being "good" all the time. Lately I have been bad, but I'll get back to good after we get back from California next week.

I actually have a plan to start drinking heavily while exercising hard starting in my 60s. The goal is to die healthy, happy and fast. My biggest dread is that I will linger, loose my faculties, and suffer some long slow death. I want to go out while I'm still able to walk to my car and drive fast.

Well, I'll quote Mae West here..."When I'm good I'm very good, but when I'm bad I'm better!!"

My grandmother-in-law who will be 103 this coming March attributes her long life to a strong belief in God, moderation in most things, (she still likes to party and can dance rings around the anyone who joins her on the dance floor) hard work, and a positive outlook, keeping busy mentally and physically, eating light, and lots of laughter.

She used to walk the boardwalk in Atlantic City every day for miles and if they'd allow her out alone, she'd still be doing it. She still lives alone, can out-walk me when I think I'm walking pretty fast. She can still crack jokes with the best of us. Also, she hasn't been married for 80 years. Go figure!

I want to meet this lady! I have arthritis in my knees from an old ski injury - and my biggest fear of growing old is that I'll reach that age where I just can't get my ass out of the S2000. Now that will be tragedy.

Although the upside is that maybe then I'll be forever stuck in the driver's set of my S2000. Not a bad way to go ...
