Levi needs your thoughts and prayers
Our "early am" friend Levi (SN= NNY S2k) is in the hospital in upstate NY. I rec'd a long email from his wife Karla....sent to a dozen or more friends. Not many of you "regulars" have met Levi (has only attended meets in Upstate and New England) but he's a great guy...the type that would do anything for you
Long story short: He was not feeling well last weekend, but went to work on Monday. He was obviously sick and was sent home. Spent several days with unmentionable bodily distress; could not keep food down; swollen stomach. After no improvement, he finally drove HIMSELF to the local medical clinic on Friday morning
Here's the end of Karla's very long message...sent late Friday night:
I'll update when I hear any news, but please post your Get Well wishes here. I'll send Karla a LINK to this thread...so that she can pass on (nice) comments to Levi

....You see what we thought was the flu was a bowel obstruction which they thought was from a large mass (tumor) as the CT showed. But just as the flu (which he never had!!), fooled us, the mass fooled the doctors. When they opened Lenny up tonight at 6:32 for emergency surgery they found that he had a perforated appendix! He was filled with infection from the appendix which they said happened some time? ago??? Go figure, most people die when an appendix ruptures, he is now out of surgery and we have 24 hours to wait until he is out of the woods. His kidneys right now are not functioning properly due to dehydration ...and due to the massive internal infection which they are treating, his white blood cell count is very low. And this is a guy that on the way to the er, called work and told the guy, "well I think i'll need at least till Tuesday off, but I don't know!" and he knew he was going into the er for the obstruction and looking at surgery! So all funnies aside he is a very sick guy right now, and the Doc says the next 48 hours he will probably get very sick, that the effects of this type of infection don't show up sometimes for about 2 days. I hope Saturday brings better news and finding for him.So keep your fingers crossed for a speedy recovery and I will let you all know how he is doing when I can!
