Leslie Nielson dies at the age of 84
Leslie Nielson, the actor who began his career in serious roles and discovered comedy later died at the age of 84. My favorite of his movies was Airplane, but he was very good in the Naked Gun series and others.

First saw him in Forbidden Planet, to this day one of my favorite sci fi flicks. His Airplane performance is a classic. A career to be proud of, he'll be missed.

His rendition ot the National Anthem in The Naked Gun is unforgettable. 
It's a damn shame the Zuckers couldn't come up with a couple more vehicles for Leslie. I never could really buy in to him playing a heavy earlier in his career. He just looked like too nice a guy - sort of like Andy Griffith playing a bad guy but with a whoopie cushion.
