Cool Lainey & Rick's Travels in Virginia

This is a special report to let everyone know that Lainey and Rick are here in my fair City. I was delighted to drive down to the Courthouse Park at Appomattox and meet them this morning, we had a great little lunch in a local cafe called Betty B's, toured all two streets of Appomattox and then drove back up to Lynchburg. We drove into downtown Lynchburg, went to the Visitor's Center, walked a bit downtown and then toured a little bit of the town. Rick then had a nice refreshing beverage in green glass and washed his car at my place while Lainey and I visited and Lainey got to say hello to my dogs . They've left to rest up a bit and then we'll have dinner. It was FANTASTIC and I've had a wonderful day. It is so nice to see friends again. BTW, we're having record breaking hot temps here, I guess Rick & Lainey brought the sunshine along with them. YAY.

And it appears they will bring it right with them for the weekend also.

MsP, we had an absolute blast. I read one of Patty's posts about the trip being an attitude adjustment, well, I must say, driving and visiting with Lainey & Rick was reallllllly good for mine. SF07 has begun and it is a verrrrry good thing. We're all going to have a blast. WOW, I needed a day like today.
Thanks, Lainey & Rick for coming to Virginia!! It has been totally wonderful.

It appears the Fling will be group therapy for quite a few of us.

Sad that Rick and Lainey are heading out of town today, but still laughing from the dinner convo last night. +1 was still grinning this morning and his shoes looked great when he left home, so no limping. Looking so forward to more laughs this weekend and I'm so glad we had some time together even if the Queen isn't in Lynchburg.

The queen IS in Lynchburg (and she's leaving soon for Wintergreen). The two of us are really looking forward to seeing you and Jim (and everybody) again. Friday can't get here fast enough.

Valentine is quite the wonderful hostess. On Friday, as Jim (S1997) and I came into Lynchburg on our way to Wintergreen, him from Texas and me from California, Darlene (and her Jim) had lunch awaiting us at her home. It was delicious! I got to meet her sweet doggie, Max, and see her wonderful, cozy home. Then she led me to Wintergreen so I got to follow a pretty red S2000 for another 35 miles. Good thing too, since my GPS had a different destination in mind.

((((hug)))) Thank you, Valentine.

Thank you, Patty and thank you too, Emil. We just got back home from WG. It was great to see Patty, Jim, Lainey and Rick and getting to spend a little time with you four realllllly made my week. We enjoyed seeing everyone, but I conked out at dinner (as usual) and made an early night of it. +1 and I had breakfast with Grannyrod, Jerry & Kathy this morning and +1 LOVED his breakfast which was prepared by our new friend, Marva. Grannyrod picked a great +1 for this trip and we really enjoyed her company.
