I'd like to own a tracker socket set, since more than one of my spanners have disappeared as well. Apparently we are not alone as I've heard through the underground that some spanners are so rare as to be actually worth something.

Nuthin' like a good wrench to make your day! You guys should poke around e-Bay. I'll bet dollars to pounds (or, perhaps Euros) that these Whitworth spanners are collectibles.

dlq, thanks for the history lesson. Gotta' admit, it's not surprising that there was no global standardization up through, say, the 60's... I'm sure the MG guys just thought they were improving on things and doing it "right." It's only in retrospect that we have to giggle a little bit.

Rock on, guys. Clean those basements.
