Once you get past the body betrayal part, you will find that a lot of progress has been made in managing this chronic disease.
I would want these findings confirmed, beyond a shadow of doubt.

Funny that my podiatrist just mentioned this this morning....as I mentioned some numbness in toes and fingers (when I wake up in the morning). I'm due for a CBC in another month and will check this out with my regular doc in early June. No history of diabetes in my family at all, so I hope this is not in the cards for me (yet). I DO have a bad sweet tooth...
Good luck with your treatment, Mike....and getting 'back to work' soon. It's a bummer about the insurance gap thing
Maybe you can get temporary disability compensation.....

Jerry, I sure hope you test out fine. You might want to move that appt. earlier if it's convenient though, the earlier it's caught the better.
RC, two full blood panels so far, I'll be starting full time BG monitoring in 11 days. My fasting Blood Glucose levels were both over 400 (as were my cholestorol and triglycerides) and my A1c was 14.7 on 2 different days, so unfortunately it's a pretty definite diagnosis.
Thanks again everybody!

Mike,
For many conditions, there are a plethora of drugs that can be prescribed. Different people react differently to a given drug; over time they may well be able to come up with a regimen that achieves the desired controls with less severe side effects.
Hang in there. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm sure many people who have serious heart attacks probably feel exactly the same way.
