[QUOTE=RC - Ryder,May 18 2009, 06:07 PM] I went to work all day right after a 7 AM vasectomy.

Lainey, you got screwed and glued?
Oh, and sewed?
I think I just got sewed. I'm really curious to see what's under this soft cast. I am guessing there will be two places (or more) of stitches; one where the finger tendon was severed and one where it was resown to the thumb tendon stump, but the arm is sore way up at the top of the cast. Did they clamp it down there? Did they shave my hairy little arm and the hair is growing back and rubbing? How did the doc know the thumb tendon had receded up half way to the elbow?

Check your email. Sending you pics of the repair. It's not gory.

Okay. NSFW?
Edit:
Hmm. Not sure what I'm looking at but I can tell metal vs. organic tissue.

Lainey I suspect it has to do with how much tension the tissue will be subjected to.
Glue is preferable because it doesn't scar and doesn't require a follow-up visit for removal.
Staples probably hold a lot better but scar and are more subject to infection.
Staples also allow for more drainage of the affected area if that is a concern as well.

at the office. My son will be here shortly. Time for me to quit for the day and snuggle up with the ice pack for a while.

I'm thinking about heading over to the gym to see what I can do without getting my arm/cast sweaty. I normally would do 6 miles on the elliptical using the arm parts, too, but I can't grasp with my right hand and my arms get too sweaty even if I could. Don't want that happening with sutures underneath and this thing staying on for another 8 days. Maybe the treadmill?
... or I could stay here and work some more on my Spring Fling photos. Or, both.
