Ireland?
Cindy and I are planning a trip to Ireland. Just trying to get some suggestions from the group.
Likely a mix of Dublin and the countryside.
Any thoughts or ideas, experiences (good and bad) to be aware of.
Thanks!
Enjoy Spring Fling everyone!

Yes, I've been. It's a beautiful green isle when it's not raining. Good luck with that, though. Our Ring of Kerry drive was killed by rain and clouds that blocked all view, but we had good weather for most of the week before. We drove from Dublin to Cork and around the country. Dublin city pubs will be mostly packed with tourists, but that's OK, if you don't mind shoulder to shoulder standing. The Duck tour in Dublin was fun, but campy. Tour the Guinness brewery for me. I didn't get a chance to go there when we were in the city. BnBs are good to stay and you get the full Irish Breakfast every day.
Pick up a copy of the Rick Steves book if you don't have it. I'm pretty sure he has one on Ireland.
It was a good experience. One of our main goals was to locate the town and decayed castle that my friend's grandfather played in when we was a boy. It's an historical place now, and they gladly accepted the information and letters she had from that time. I believe they have his photo up on one of the walls there.
Beautiful sights, and coastlines. Take a sweater and something for rain.

The town of Dingle and the Dingle Peninusla (downstream from Limerick) have fantastic narrow roads, lots of pubs, not many tour busses (depending on time of year, of course). The Burren (near Galway Bay) is rather like a limestone desert in the middle of all that green.
