Boy, did I get lucky! I didn't get one drop of rain! I just got to Salina, Kansas driving farther today than my original plan for Independence, Missouri. Did 706 miles today so I'll be closer to my sister's house for tomorrow's drive.

This town is flooded all over the place. The desk girl said they got over 10" of rain in the last 2 or 3 days. The other Best Western in town was my first choice but it said it was full on line. Ends up it's closed due to flooding.

I should have smooth sailing for the rest of my trip home, I think. Here's the end of my travel plans:

Tuesday, May 8th: Salina, Kansas to Peyton, Colorado. 391 miles. I'll be at my sister's for two nights.

Thursday, May 10th: Peyton, Colorado to Cedar City, Utah. 650 miles. I'm planning on spending Friday looking all over Bryce Canyon, Utah and then spending the night again.

Saturday, May 12th: Cedar City, Utah to Acton, California. 400 miles.

I've driven 4,406 miles since I left Acton on April 29th.

There is a rumor afoot that driving 400+ miles /day in an S2000 will keep you young. My personal input to this is if you drive OVER 400 miles /day remove the word "keep" because you are still young and in good shape. Enjoy the and don't forget to as you work on your tan and see the USA. Jay

You are going to need an oil change before you get home.

The Dragon is everything that I could have dreamed about...hoping to get back here another time.

Hey Patty at your advance years, you need to pace yourself.

Seriously, I'm glad you made it thru the eye of the tiger and came out well. Have a safe trip home.

+1 and I will be making our annual jaunt to Vegas in June. That's as far west as we have been. Maybe someday we will get to So Cal and give you a call.
