They were still racing in short sleeve shirts in 1961 & 1962 at LeMans when I was there. Each year lately I've been going to the Put-in-Bay vintage race reunion, drive the old course, and think about what it was like at top speed through the city streets. OMG. Scary when you watch people nonchalantly walking down the sidewalks with cars within inches going flat out.

Dave,

Thanks for sharing the video of Monaco in 1957. The Gran Prix de Monaco and the 24 Heurs de LaMans have long been on bucket list. I am not sure that we will make either but we did just get a brochure from Seabourn Cruise lines Which included a cruise that includes Monte Carlo. I am trying to talk the Plant Pixie into at least going to Monte Carlo if not for the race at lease for the experience of being there.

For those of you that are NOT familiar with Seabourn (the world's favorite small cruise line) their cruises are all inclusive with small ships (Yachts). We were fortunate enough to cruise on the Seabourn Spirit in 2009. 208 passengers with a crew of 169. The service and experience was unbelievable.
