You are on to something here. I've gone up and down, now and again, but it does feel as if my body gets happy at a certain weight and then moves on/up. It's an unfortunate fact of aging that the pounds do creep up. I would love to lose 8-9 pounds and be back to where I was three years ago. Even that weight is not as low as I was in the past.

I get plenty of exercise, my BP is fine (with low dose medication) I have a nice low resting heart rate, so I guess the exercise pays off, even if I've not dropped weight. Thin does not necessarily = fit, and weight re-distribution is certainly a thing.

I'm not a larger person and, the fact is, the calories are so few if I try to loose weight, it's easy to fall off the wagon.

Well, I ended the summer season at 119 lbs, but, the temperatures are dropping which means an end to my daily bike rides. I've got some old jeans in the drawer with a 30" waist that I keep as back up in the event that I climb a bit. I'm wondering how well I'll do through the holidays. It's usually a rough time on my waist.

Sounds like you did OK Harry. A few pounds of winter weight will keep you warm.

After getting down to my desired weight in the summer of 2019 on my low carb diet, things began to happen. First a 17-day cruise to celebrate our 15th anniversary, which included many desserts and other delicious gourmet meals, and unlimited buffets. Then, Covid hit. Most of us know what that meant. The scales went off the pegs and I fell back into my past ways and the pounds quickly accumulated. I gained two pants sizes, and even with new pants, had trouble buckling my belt. This Thanksgiving didn't help, so today, I threw in the towel. Weight Watchers, here I come! Wish me luck!

I am NOT focusing on weight anymore. I need to get back in shape first.
My world is going to change a lot in the coming year, my work schedule is going to be very different.

Care to fill us in as to how your schedule is changing....? Retiring? Part time?

nothing that dramatic, I am moving onto a different program.
The hours will be less meetings and more research. That means I will have the luxury of a loose calendar.
