Default Ice Hockey 2016-2017 season

Starting a fresh thread for another season of hockey! If you're a fan we'd love to hear from you and what's up with your team.

I'm really early this year - right? But heck, trades are going on. Hope is in the air. How is your team doing in the off-season?

Are You Ready For Some Hockey?

You know your team is desperate for decent players when you offer long term contracts to 32-year old players. Wings just signed a six-year contract for 32- year old Frans Nielsen and Bruins signed a five-year contract for 32-year old David Backes. Hope it works out well in the short term for both teams.

As far a trades have gone to date I don't see much improvement for next season for the Bruins. Hope I'm wrong.

Losing Lucic to the Oilers is going to hurt. Hope the young forwards from AHL affiliate Reign can fill the hole left behind.

So odd, losing in first round. Like the season ended before it began.

There was some speculation in the newspapers about trading to get Lucic back here to Boston. Guess that ain't going to happen.

When it comes to hockey it seems players that 'really' make a difference are in short supply every year.

On paper it has to be Canada - 23 players who's total salaries for next year total $173,000,000!
