Patty, my tv package includes 200+ channels, HBO, Showtime, Starz, and now Cinemax/Sports; plus a DVR. Phone is unlimited nationwide from home. Total for all three mentioned above with tax/fees is $175/mo. Yours includes cell. My cell is a separate $15/mo prepaid.
^That's a better deal, by far. I do have a DVR (edited my post) but none of the movie channels. That's an extra $40 a month, I think.

I am changing from DirecTV to Time Warner Cable
I would do that but the problem is Time Warner does not carry the NFL network

Do you watch 200 channels? What's that song about ____ channels and nothing on TV?

No cable for me yet....The installer wouldn't install the demark box where I wanted it (even thou the last cable company put their box there) so I am waiting till Wednesday before I sign up with DirecTV again.

The installer wanted to install the box on the side of the house and run cable half way around the house to connect to my cables. I have seen their work and it looks like @%$#!

I have to admit their call centers sometimes drive me nuts. Yesterday they said the new package would result in a $17 increase; today when I made the switch they said it would be $10. I even challenged them on it; was that including everything? Only after the first bill will I know for sure. BTW, earlier I mentioned my cell phone was $15; that's true but that's every 3 months, so it's only $5/mo.

I wanted it installed on the rear of the house. This is where my antenna tower is and it is where all of the interior cables are terminated.

The supervisor came out today and said that they could mount it where I wanted it but there was no way to ground it but I called his bluff. There is a 10' ground rod directly below the position. He finally relented and the installer is coming tomorrow.

BTW, he also wanted to mount it on the side of the house and ground it to a faucet that in run in plastic pipe!?!?

im a tech for comcast out here in cal in the bay area,im just tryn to make sense of the situation out of curiosity, which one of our lovely states do you reside in and in your neighborhood can you tell if you have aerial or underground plant, easy way to tell is if your cable/phone/power drops are in the air or underground when they first hit your house.

For the record, Comcast is not the problem. I am dealing with Time Warner.

All of the distribution systems in our neighborhood are aerial. I have felt all along that there was no problem with what I wanted done, I just got an installer that didn't want to do the job.
