Lainey, what doesn't go up? Except for that (according to all the tv ads). You can always listen to the radio for nothing; and generally it's better than tv.
You're right of course. I just think of cable TV is a rip off. Not much competition to choose from either. They have us where they want us. Fios is not in my area, Dish TV requires too much equipment. I've never had good experiences dealing with Comcast. Verizon isn't much better, I've whined about them too, however they seem to put a little more effort into keeping your business, and they don't seem to be reading from a script.

You didn't retire from ComCast did you?

you generally won't hear me defending them.
funny thing is the globe just rated comcast as the best large employer in mass.

I will say there stuff has been working well for the most part and I'm thankful for that becuase I despise the tech support.

I hate Comcast. We were without cable and inter net service for 5 days and of all times during the World Series. I called everyday and all I got was a recorded message that all operators were experiencing high call volume. Some bozo finally showed up and all it was was a kinked line in our development. So, I finally get to watch the Series and in the 4th inning it goes out again. This time it was an issue in our town. I finally got to talk to a representative in Montreal? and all he talked about was the Series then I blasted him and told him I was not paying for the disrupted service. It goes out if the wind reaches more than 30 MPH. I'll take my chances with Fios once it gets down here. Cant be any worse.

Got a letter that we need cable boxes and adapters to continue receiving all the cable channels that we pay for. We're not into fancy cable packages.

we got a similar letter; called to discuss; they sent the adapter boxes; hooked up to our 20 y.o. Sony; and the online activation didn't work Turned out that they never should have sent the boxes...as our Basic Cable didn't include the "premium channels"

Anyhow, we DO get almost all of those channels on our new digital Samsung telly in the kitchen, so I decided to and enjoy our bonus that costs about $12/month (total of $59 for high speed internet AND basic cable).

Comcast has lately been very good in response to any service gap; and it's quick to connect to Customer Service. All of it's just a "necessary evil"

I don't know about Comcast but I hate Verizon. They are still looking for Bob no matter what I tell them. On a recent phone call to them regarding my e mail account, they were reluctant to talk to me because his name is STILL somehow connected to the account. I told the sh*thead to call Bob and let me know if he answers. I have quesions too.

good thing they're the phone company 'cuz those would be some serious long distance charges.
