I just got out of the hospital.

After three nights. I had a buildup of calcium. I first went to emergency on orders from my family doctor. Normal calcium is 5-10. I was 17. I have an acidic stomach and I've been gobbling Tums. Who knew? I thought it was a side effect from my recent oral surgery,. The doctors said I could have died. Lots of people do. I'm taking an antibiotic, magnesium, and Pepsid and drinking lots of water. I feel like a pincushion from shots and IVs two at a time. God I hate hospitals!
I have been a Tums/Rolaids gobbler for decades so my NP put me on omeprazole 20 mg. It stopped my need for Tums/Rolaids.

George I noticed from past posts you like Mexican food, and you likely tailgate a lot (being a regular USC football fan) Maybe those items are not good for your stomach issues , just thinking aloud here, no disrespect to you.

The label on Tums says max 10 within 24 hours. I was taking easily twice that.

Dizziness, fatigue, inability to focus, loss of appetite. I thought it was from my dental surgery, Patty, I'm taking one Pepsid tablet an day now. I'm drinking lots of water now. Must stay hydrated.. Thanks, Patty.

It sounds counter intuitive but drinking a shot or so of plain cider vinegar in a glass of water does wonders for reflux and upset stomach. The vinegar is close to what the stomach acid PH is normally so when you reestablish the body's correct PH, the natural reaction is a reduction in acid production.
