I've heard some really nice things about it. Let us know how you like it after you get used to it.

Congratulations.
Maybe I should join you - but then again some days I still long for my old Motorola phone that would only place and receive calls. It was much less confusing.

My sister, niece and a few other folks also have that phone and are very happy with it.

I couldn't pass this up, phone was $299.00, they took $80.00 off of that and i get a $100.00 mail in rebate. I got 450 min of time to land lines, all calls to other cell phones are free no matter what carrier. It is a learning curve, but im getting there.

Rob, Raymo its not that hard to figure out. If i can do it so can you guys. Trust me on that one.
I like the iPhone but it's only available on the AT&T network and AT&T is awful up here. I like the Droid X except for it's size. Luckily I still have a few months to go on my contract.
The only negative I've read about the Droid X so far is that the menus are layered and it takes some doing to get where you want to go. I don't know if this is true or not (I read this in a white paper on ZDNet) and I'm hoping that those of you who own the Droit X will comment on that.
I'm also interested in the Microsoft Windows Mobile operating system. Anybody use it?

not sure what you mean by layered menus rob.
if you have a favorite ap you just put it on the main page.
it pretty quick to get to everything.

One thing that I have heard about the Android operating system (this is only what I've heard, I have no actual experience with it and I hope those of you who do will share your experience) is that because it is an open architecture system each phone maker can change it to suit the particular phone. The result is that no two Andriod driven phones necessarily have the same features. This as opposed to Apple OS, Blackberry or Msft Win Mobile which by virute of their being closed bring exactly the same features to every phone they work on. Is this true? And, has it been an issue?
