Hunt for Mid-October Event
#12
Gene,
I have a tough time with all of the dates. August 24 is about the time that Adam is leaving for his sophomore year at Virginia Tech. The weekend after I'll be in San Francisco for a wedding, and after that the month of September is all about the holidays.
You pick the date and if there is any way possible, I'll come.

As I type this 24 August is the best for me. As I am signed up for S2K Days and plan to visit a friend in NC on the way home, and possibly take the scenic route including the Dragon and the Back of the Dragon. We are also planning to attend Jim's Aspen Meet so dates in September become iffy.
Gene, good luck trying to herd us cats.

Sept 14 in the only date that would work for me, and not sure about Kathy.
We're in CO/MT in later Aug; in Watkins Glen on Sept 7 for the KSRT; volunteer week at G-burg in mid-Sept; and in Maine the REST of Sept.
Retirement is hell
How about a Mid-Non-Summer Gathering in OCTOBER?

Actually- The 5th and 6th is Rosh Hashanah, and the 14th is Yom Kippur. The 13th is Erev Yom Kippur - just get home for an early dinner!
Gene- not that Cindy and I have been to any of the Vintage events, this one is close, could be a great time for a drive and an area we've not driven through. It had a chance...
Unfortunately, we have projected plans on the 24th, definite plans on the 7th, and the 14th is the last weekend before our trip to Ireland so I'm guessing a bunch of last minute prep.

OK, folks. I'd like to give this one more chance. How does Saturday, October 12 sound? It should still be warm enough to be top-down, all the tourists traveling to our beaches will be gone, and the trees may be starting to change.
Since it won't be Summer, I'll take Jerry's suggestion and name it the Hunt for Mid-October event. (With apologies to Tom Clancey)
If this doesn't work, then I'm afraid I'll have to take Jim's lead and postpone it til next year.
Oh, Gary, you are absolutely invited to attend!
