Thumbs up How well do you sleep?

Have we had this poll before? Maybe we have, maybe I started it?

So how do you sleep? I know many Vintage folks who say they just have a hard time getting a good night's sleep. Generally, I sleep pretty well. Sometimes I have trouble falling asleep, sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and stay awake for a while...Broken sleep doesn't work for me. This AM I was wide awake at 4:00 AM for a while, which has left me dragging tail today.

I need 7-8 hours, but less in the summer when we have more daylight.

I do find if I stay up too late on Saturday night (I'm just talking an hour or two later than the norm), and if I sleep in just a bit on Sunday, I pay for it all day. I end up with a headache and feel lousy...I need my sleep, and sleep that starts at midnight or later doesn't get me enough restful sleep.

So, how well do you sleep?

I'm a very lite sleeper.
when they hound sleeps in our room he snores....so I have lots of interruptions. I notice in the morning on the nights he's not in our room that I've slept much better.

My youngest is the lightest sleeper I've ever heard of though.
one morning he complained that the deer kept him up. ????
"yeah they were walking in the snow and making noise."

No son, you must have been dreaming....

until I looked at the tracks in the new snow in front of our house.
sure enough deer had come through the yard eating at the shrubs.

I hear you on the light sleeper thing....I sometimes sleep through Rick getting out of bed to use the bathroom, but if anyone else is in the house and starts moving around, I'm awake. And, once I'm awake I really have a hard time getting back to sleep.

Needless to say, the grandkids are the only ones who occupy our guest room. I need my sleep....

I've had insomnia ever since I can remember. Years ago I got prescription sleeping pills, but they made me groggy in the daytime and I still didn't sleep at night. Haven't tried them since and pretty much have gotten accustomed to roaming through the house while everyone else is sleeping. Here's a story I wrote about my friend insomnia for my reading/writing group several years ago:

It is a love hate relationship this long standing affair that I

Nice writing, Val!

I knew you were one who didn't sleep much. Have you gotten "used to it" or do you frequently feel tired due to the lack of sleep?

One of my co-workers needs very little sleep. He's out raking leaves at 5:00 AM, and never ever looks tired.

Next time I can't sleep I'll log on here and we can send each other messages.

Nice read Val but I managed to nod off halfway through it.

I think I must have the opposite of ADHD.

I'd recommend ethanol therapy for most sleep problems.
