Hagerty got back to me this afternoon. They have decided that the car is repairable! I was also told that being there is no towing rider on the policy I need to make arrangements to get the car to my repair shop. He did say that maybe they would help me with the cost but I would need to submit a claim.

I can understand classic car insurance claims may not have sense of urgency since they are not supposed to be daily drivers. How they are handled is a reflection on the local company Hagerty has entrusted to do the investigation. I am guessing but I suspect Location, Location, Location has everything to do with the service you receive.
The next hurtle is finding a body shop that knows what they are doing and can locate the parts for a car that has been out of production for many years. Scoots, do you have one in mind?

Posted on 12-5-2023...I just finished getting my 2005 NSX insured with Hagerty. I went with a value of $170,000. It's going to be $2,705 per year which is $2,333 more per year than I was paying with Connect/American Family Insurance through Costco.
That's a huge difference but now I know if it gets wrecked I won't have to deal with the headache of what it's truly worth vs. what Kelly Blue Book says, when it's not even listed on Kelly Blue Book.
Rob, the agent, wanted photos so I went out in the garage and took these. The best part of the new policy is the windshield replacement has no deductible. I'm on the original windshield from 2005 although I bought it in 2009.
BTW, Dave/Scooterboy, I mentioned your problem with your totaled or not, and he said once they make up their mind they'll take care of it.

I decided to try Grundy this year. Hagerty's premium of $2,635 for a year just sounded too high. I am sending payment to Grundy today for $1,122.76 for a year. Wow! That's much better and I still have it valued at $170,000.
