How long do you expect to live, 70, 80, 90?

Hmmm, term life, at your age? That premium must be pretty igh? What will it cost you per year for the amount of coverage needed to pay off the reverse mortgage? And why do you want to pay off the reverse mortgage anyway?

Having just had a life threatening/changing event at a young 57, I agree with Lainey, I want to live as long as I can be independent. I do not want to be a burden on any of my loved ones. So a deer suit makes alot of sense in that frame of thought.
I sincerely hope to live at least another 20 years, but they really need to be in good health to make it worthwhile.

It's weird how as kids we get these ideas in our heads. For some reason, 56 was the magic number that popped into my head as a kid. Unfortunately, I'll be 56 in May so I sure hope that wasn't a premonition that comes true!

I figure that as long as I keep picking the mushrooms off the pizza I'll be fine.

My mom lived to 92. My dad lived to 73. I'm 51. Not knowing whose death genes I got, for financial planning purposes, I'll use early 80s.
Now, if I got my mom's death genes and make it into my 90s, it doesn't really matter cause she wasn't very sure where she was or what was going on for those last 10 years, so I don't think I'll care if I have no money. The nursing home will look about the same no matter how big my bank account.
If I have dad's death genes and I go 10 years before the money runs out, then the heirs will get something and I'm fine with that.
As for the deer suit, I'm concerned that at 78 or so, I'll have trouble putting it on. Even if I can get into it, I'm not sure I'll be able to navigate the rocks and fallen branches I'll encounter along the trails to the hunting grounds while peering out of eye slits cut into the neck of the deer costume. If I fall, I'll go unnoticed by the hunters and either starve or freeze to death, neither of which is pleasant or fast. Is there any chance you ladies will put together a motorized version of the dee suit??
