I would LOVE to own one. But I am not sure that I could afford (or justify) the up keep? I have also been an instructor at HPDE track days and I having had my S at the limit in both wet and dry (greasy) conditions I would not be comfortable throwing "that much money around" (as in the consequences of a unrecoverable mistake).

I would be very happy with a Cayman S.

I'd be satisfied with the Carrera 4 Cabriolet. The 911 is my fave car, other than the S.

I would agree, sir. I don't think the Cayman GTS is worth the extra $13K

One more vote. The best 911 is a Cayman S. I'd trade that bit of power for the more friendly handling, better balance, and lower maintenance costs (I would hope).

I bet 911 owners get pissed when you say that.

^^^ I agree with Dave and Mike. But I'm not really a Porsche guy. The Germans are so damned stubborn about keeping that ancient heavy-ass engine hanging off the back end of the 211 [sic]. They manage to keep the balance tamed by all kinds of electronics, but the Cayman mid-engine design is far superior.

Ha ha, Anyway, Porsche will be making tractors and taxi cabs soon, now. Sports cars are just a side line from the past... .

I like the love for the Cayman here. I lust after the GT4.
