I'm about as interested in Nixon's missing 18 minutes as I am in the "grassy knoll" theory.

The Canadians can do whatever the hell they want. Maybe we just won't buy Canadian beef for a few more millenia...

The Hubble thing has some legs...what's the real reason? Have we figured out the universe? Is there a better alternative? I know that there's another space telescope that is UV/IR based--maybe that's giving better data? I dunno.

I'm really surprised that no on "bit" on American Imperialism. Let's put it another way--Is America supposed to be the World Police? I know that there are PLENTY of conservatives that hate the thought, although Bush seems to be leading us down that path.

BTW, it's 12:52am Taiwan time, 9:52 Pacific...crazy

I think the price tag to repair it is $1 billion. I believe, given the pressures NASA is under, that they feel the money would be spent more appropriately elsewhere. I dunno. I hate to miss out on those awesome images. Maybe Bill Gates can make it a pet project. MS-Hubble v2.0.

Cordy,

What are you doing in Taiwan?

I think Rose Mary Woods is a good guess. If Woodward talks we'll know.
