You know, in order to have controvery on this thread, you've got to stop talking about things that no one disputes.
For example, even the lefties on this thread don't REALLY believe that America has Imperial intentions. Right? Otherwise, Kuwait would be the 51st state.
BTW, I'm writing this from Taiwan, 2:25am Pacific time...

Rose Mary Woods, Nixon's long time secretary died yesterday. Allegedly, she is responsible for the 18 minut gap in the Nixon tapes. She claimed it was an accident. I don't think it was.

I can't believe you guys are running out of topics already.
Inspired by this article, discuss amongst yourselves: Should Canada offer political asylum to soldiers refusing to serve in the war in Iraq?
"Until now, Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin has responded evasively to asylum requests filed by US soldiers. "We are a nation of immigrants and I have no intention of discriminating against anyone," he explained. But even though the Iraq war is as unpopular in Canada as US President George W. Bush himself, Martin knows full well that Washington would view Canada's granting asylum to GIs from south of the border as an open insult."

In the US we already expect that of Canada. If they go the other way and refuse them, then that's a change in Canadian policy.
Perhaps Canadian policy will, like Canada itself, thaw in the Spring.
