I mean market price. I understand from the manufacturer, they are expensive. I'll accept that as a fact of this debate. I'm doubting that they sell for more than comparable aftermarket seats in the "black market". I'm trying to make sense of how a decrease in OEM prices would affect theft by theorizing how this decrease in price would affect the criminal who is either out to make money or to procure goods for their own use.
From what I have come to understand, Brent, the advertised price of used S2000 seats is between $4.000 and $6.000. I would imagine that those who seek to purchase them are people like myself who want nothing other than OEM seats in their Ss.

From what I see, I have a hard time accepting that. Maybe you could fetch that kind of price to a body shop that would resell them at near Honda prices, but an intelligent consumer can find them for under $1000 easily, it appears:

Good work, Brent. Now I understand differently. Perhaps those who have had their seats stolen often write with a measure of exaggeration that is rooted in frustration.
Thank you.

Certainly possible. Actually, the low used price of seats should be even more ammo in the fight to get Honda to lower OEM seat prices. Shows that the market value of the product is drastically lower than what they charge. I suspect you won't get far fighting for Honda to change pricing, but I'll certainly stand behind by original statement of brand new S2000 seats being worth between $2,000 and $3,000 until I come across information to justify a higher price.

Focusing on the price gouging aspect of this would certainly be in your best interest for attaining any sort of a result from Honda, I believe.
